• It constricts the arteries of the abdominal organs, therefore it is used to stop haemorrhage involving abdominal blood vessels.
• Oxytocin causes uterine contractions at term. Used for the induction or stimulation of the labor.
• It has been given to relieve painful breast engorgement. Promotes breast milk release during lactation.
