Action of Medicine:

The decoction of seeds is bitter, strengthening and expels blood dysentery. The fresh fruit is refrigerant, tonic, antiscorbutic, diuretic and laxative. It is used in fevers, hiccough, eczema, vomiting, indigestion, habitual constipation and other disorders of the digestive system. It is a blood-purifier; also given in diarrhoea, dysentery and haemorrhage.
