Composition of Dr. Bakshi’s No. B33 Cough Drops dispensed in globules: Belladonna 3x, Bryonia alb. 3x, Rumex crisps. 3x, Cuprum acet. 4x, Drosera rot. 3x, Ipecacuanha 3x, Spongia tosta 3x, Squilla 3x, Thymus serp. Ø
Indications: For Continuous/spasmodic/ suffocative cough associated with Rhinitis, Tonsillitis, Laryngitis, Pharyngitis, Bronchitis and other respiratory diseases.
Dosage: Adults: 6 pills, 4 times a day. Children: 3 pills, 3 times a day. In acute cases 6 pills every 2 hours, 6-8 times a day, may be taken or as advised by the physician.

Cough is a sudden and often repetitively occurring reflex which helps to clear the large breathing passages from secretions, irritants, foreign particles and microbes. Coughing can happen voluntarily as well as involuntarily. Although it can be annoying, coughing helps body heal or protect itself. Frequent coughing usually indicates the presence of a disease. Most of the time, coughing is caused by a Respiratory Tract Infection but can be triggered by choking, smoking, air pollution, Asthma, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, post-nasal drip, Chronic Bronchitis and medications such as ACE (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme) inhibitors. A cough can be dry or productive, depending on whether sputum is coughed up. It may occur only at night, during both night and day or just during the day. SELF CARE TIPS Taking adequate rest, steam inhalation, avoiding trigger factors and drinking plenty of fluids helps control cough. For acute and cases of recent origin Dr. Bakshi’s formula for Cough can be taken. In cases where the cough gets prolonged for longer period of time then it can be due to more serious illness like Tuberculosis, Chronic lung affections, Heart diseases for which the doctor's expert opinion is required.
