Action of Medicine: Indicated in cases of remittent, intermittent and bilious fevers, also rheumatism, sciatica and constipation. The fever may be of the remittent or intermittent type. Tongue coated white or yellowish; burning sensation in stomach, better by cold applications. Hepatic region is tender; liver and spleen enlarged and tender in bilious and remittent fevers. Frequent vomiting of bilious material which is worse after drinking water; profuse bilious vomiting with nausea. Constipated; bilious stools accompanied with nausea. Constipation of children. Insatiable thirst before and during chill and heat of fever; sweating is not marked. Urine scanty and highly coloured.
