Astha Drops: Asthma is a common chronic disorder of the airways characterized by variable and recurring symptoms of airflow obstruction, bronchospasm & an underlying inflammation. There are various triggers exacerbating the attacks of Asthma like pollens, dust, mites, certain medicines and certain food items.

Composition: Arsenicum album 6x, Belladonna 4x, Bryonia alba 4x, Kali phosphoricum 8x, Natrum muriaticum 8x, Natrum sulphuricum 8x, Veratrum album 4x, Eriodictyon glutinosum (Yerba Santa) 4x.

Indications: Helps relieve cough especially at night, shortness of breath, chest tightness, wheezing (whistling sound during breathing) seen in Bronchial Asthma.

Dosage: 10-15 drops in some water should be taken 2-3 times daily. During an attack the dose should be repeated in luke warm water every 1/2 hour to 2 hours, depending upon the severity. In periods free of attack the dose should be taken once or twice daily for a minimum of 16-20 weeks or as prescribed by the physician.

Action of Ingredients: Arsenicum album- Debility, exhaustion and restlessness with nightly aggravation, are most important. Great exhaustion after the slightest exertion. Asthma worse midnight. Wheezing respiration. Coming into warm room excite cough. Dry friction sound. Belladonna- Tickling, short, dry cough; worse at night. Respiration oppressed, quick, unequal. Asthma in hot damp weather. Bryonia alba- Frequent desire to take a long breath; mustexpand lungs. Difficult, quick respiration; worse every movement; caused by stitches in chest. Bronchitis. Asthma. Tough mucus in trachea loosened only with much hawking. Kalium phos.- Asthma; least food aggravates. Short breath on going upstairs. Cough; yellow expectoration. Natrium muriaticum- Shortness of breath, especially on going upstairs. Whooping-cough with flow of tears with cough. Respiratory catarrh after suppressed sweats. Natrium sulphuricum- Humid Asthma; rattling in chest, at 4 and 5 am. Constant desire to take deep, long breath. Asthma in children, as a constitutional remedy. Must hold chest when coughing. Every fresh cold or unusual exertion brings on an attack of Asthma. Veratrum album- Cold perspiration on the forehead, with nearly all complaints. Hoarse, weak voice. Rattling in chest. Asthma worse in damp cold weather better bending head back. Tickling down throat into lungs. Continuous violent cough with retching, worse cold drinks. Neglected whooping cough with complications. Barking cough with belching worse warm room. Involuntary urination with cough. Eriodictyon glabra- A remedy for asthmatic and bronchial affections. Asthma relieved by expectoration. Wheezing; Asthma with coryza and mucous secretions. Advice: Complementary Remedies: B1 when feverish Bronchitis is a concomitant. B4 when Heart feels oppressed. B5 for pain and palpitation. B10 for disturbed sleep. B51 for hoarseness and catarrh of the Larynx or Bakson Throat Aid Tablets. B54 for acute and chronic cases. Status Asthamaticus.
